Terms

Terms of use

By creating an account or using criscros you agree to these terms. Last changed 16 October 2026.

The service

criscros turns a photo you upload into a cross-stitch pattern matched to DMC thread colors, and shows it in a chart viewer. It is run by criscros from the United States. Contact: support@criscros.co.

Your account

You need an account to use criscros. Give an email address you can receive mail at, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 18.

Price and payment

Uploading a photo costs $5, paid once through Stripe. Each payment adds one upload credit to your account, and uploading a photo uses one. You can make any number of patterns from a photo you have uploaded at no further cost.

Refunds

If you are not happy, write to support@criscros.co within 14 days of a payment, from the email address of your account, and we will refund it.

Your photos and patterns

Your photos stay yours. Upload only photos you have the right to use. By uploading a photo you allow us to store it and process it for one purpose: making and showing you your patterns.

Fair use

Do not upload anything unlawful, do not try to get into other people's accounts or data, and do not use the site in a way that damages it or gets in the way of others using it. We may suspend or close an account that does.

What we do not promise

A pattern is a computer's reading of a photo. Colors on a screen differ from thread, and a pattern may not look as you hoped once it is stitched. criscros is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will always be available or free of faults, or that a pattern will suit a particular purpose. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Closing your account

You can stop using criscros at any time, and delete your account yourself from your account page. Deleting it deletes your photos and patterns, and any upload credits you have not used. Those credits are not refunded, so if you want a refund of a payment made in the last 14 days, ask for it before you delete your account. The privacy page says what happens to your data.
